The first restaurant, called Sushitaro, opens in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

Sushitaro Co., Ltd. is established in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

1988

Sushitaro Co., Ltd. is established in Suita City, Osaka Prefecture.

1996

September
A new restaurant is opened offering all items at 100 yen a plate.

1999

August
Sushitaro Co., Ltd. of Toyonaka City merges with Sushitaro Co., Ltd. of Suita City.

2000

December
The company name is changed to Akindo Sushiro Co., Ltd. and the head office relocated to Settsu City, Osaka Prefecture.

2001

September
Expansion into the Kanto region, opening restaurants in Katsushika Ward and Fussa City, Tokyo.

2002

February
Development of the world’s first total management system for kaiten sushi.
July
Expansion into the Chubu region, opening a restaurant in Atsuta Ward, Nagoya.

2003

September
Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

2004

Discontinued use of the central kitchen at the head office.
